Right after I turned 21 and I started HRT, I started to consider top surgery for myself and my future, but I didn't want to jump into all of it without knowing that it’s something I would like to do, knowing it was a battle every day to put on a shirt. This was three years before I actually took the initiative to schedule a consultation.

As I sit back and reflect on the journey, I’m grateful. I’m grateful to be able to live my truth, and to live my truth for the folks who feel like they can’t. Looking into the future right now doesn’t seem too bright, and it’s hard to keep good spirits, but I now have a literal weight off my chest so I can breathe better about my future. Under affirming care saves lives.
